72:365 chik-fil-a

72:365 chik-fil-a

why don't we have Chik-fil-a in California? people already think that we only eat things like seeds and salad so wouldn't it make sense to bring one of the more healthy fast food franchises over this way? or at least in the Bay Area. Chik-fil-a is refreshing in that when you bite into their chicken sandwich you don't feel like you're eating some ground up pretend meat. it's actually made of chicken (sarcastic gasp!) oh and they offer a delicious roasted honey bbq sauce and a polynesian sauce. awesome.

71:365 Marcelo's eyelashes

71:365 Marcelo's eyelashes

today i flew into Fort Lauderdale to visit my cousin, Tina, her husband, Jeff, and her little baby (my cousin? second cousin?) Marcelo. this kid is by far the cutest baby there is on this planet. he's a Chinese, Portuguese and Cuban mix. his eyes are huge and dark and his cheeks chubby and soft. he's got so much personality and his eyelashes are beautiful!!

70:365 Cali-bear

70:365 Cali-bear

i was invited to hang out with Jerilyn, Li and Cali yesterday. went to Cali's Gymboree class and had a blast. the last time i saw her she was just turning one and could barely crawl around. the cutest thing that came from her was when she'd go "mMmmmm" when she saw something delicious (my kinda girl). this time she was running around, climbing on things and, i kid you not, saying things like "rutabaga" and "guacamole." this kid is like 18 months and saying "rhinoceros" and calling me "Gina," which i only let her mom do (it's not my favorite nickname). but because she's so cute, i suppose i'll let her slide.

slide time!

clearly she's really happy that i'm inhibiting her from running amuck. look at that face. i have that affect on babies.

remember this?? i used to love being under the parachute thing.

this is THE cutest thing. Cali thought she was controlling the cart and pushing it around. aahh i love that kid!

69:365 stamps

69:365 stamps

yet another step towards becoming a true adult! today i bought my first "booklet" of stamps ever. i quotation marked "booklet" because for $9 all it really was was 20 forever stamps on one single sheet (quite different from my opinions on what a booklet would be). typically i'd steal a stamp or two here or there from my parents but i figured it's about time i finally get some of my own.

68:365 surprise housewarming gift

68:365 surprise housewarming gift

surprisingly enough the only housewarming gifts i've received have come from the unexpected. typically you'd think your closest friends and family are the first to warm your house but it seems that those i'm just getting to know better are the ones excited for me. i got a cocktail shaker from Natasha, a vase from Muri, and some random things from Jeff and Libby that included tiny little panda bears. then yesterday one of our doctors from OB brought me this ceramic ginger grater. i see him rarely (maybe twice a month when he comes to our dept. for procedures) so it was a very pleasant and thoughtful surprise.

67:365 my life

67:365 my life

if i had to choose one word to describe my life, it'd be "truth." i live my life void of dishonesty. often times i say things that people don't want to hear or could potentially be misconstrued as arrogant or crude but i know no other way. if you live your life by truths then you have to live with all of your decisions. if you make choices that are logical and non-egotistical, then you wouldn't fear the truth. am i right? i live and die by that word. i expect everybody that i respect to be honest with me and i hold people to what they say. when i am lied to, the value of the Liar depletes immensely in my eyes. it doesn't matter the how significant the matter either. any lies. there should be no need for falsities. people should own up to their actions and their words. the truth, folks. take that avenue.  life is awesomely simpler that way.
